All about the timing, having mostly grown up on american telly I'm used to hearing alot of those kind of jokes being old by the time i hear them. Also if it was for the british prime minister I would rather have one who was black thabn one who didn't know where Spain was

so, you were gonna stop doing these cause you didn't have the time, but now instead you're gonna take even more time to colorize them? I don't get your angle.

i had decided i was either going to quit or to make these really awesome. which would mean a) making them more relevant to people outside of us b) make them in color.

lets face it, i cant (wont) write stuff that isnt about us.

so that left coloring. as a test i decided to do some in color to see how long it would take. although i did a bunch in advance so i would have time to do #100. for the most part coloring and inking didnt take too much longer. or at least it took less time than i had expected.

Thanks Tyler. You know, when I suggested we do this 2 years ago...I never thought you'd actually keep it up as long or as consistently as you did. Or that everyone would pay as much attention to them as they did, lol. I hope we can bring it back one day, funnier and with less Amber than ever before!

Amber went to UIC with us, but she was in Industrial Design with Eric, and so she wasn't a part of the group as much. However, because she was in a couple classes with Tyler and only Tyler, he decided she was more important than she ever really was and started using her as a character even though nobody else even knew who she was. Thus our constant hassling.

Amber's 1 appearance can be glimpsed in the Cell Phone video. She pops up for 1 second during one of the "I'm On My" parts...can't remember exactly where.

You know, maybe you should bring back Gang Adventures, like the NEW Gang Adventures or something. It would be nice to see Tyler's art in the front page again without having to refresh over and over for the UIC banner.

it would be cool to have them back.

but one of the main reasons i stopped was to work more exclusively on UIC Adventures.

and if you check the little newsfeed where miniventures used to be, you'll see that a new one is right around the corner. if mike had all the drawings and voice recordings...he could knock the editing part of it out in a weekend.

That's good to hear then. Yeah, I've been checking up on it...and I have to ask then: As an art student, I'm having a harder and harder time wanting to draw my stuff again. Any tips for a struggling comic artist?

to be fair, i technically take drugs when i draw.

(neurontin for my tremors)

but as for advice, roge (mind if i call you roge?)

1. what are you most passionate about? what are the kind of stories you want to tell or things you want to draw? (maybe it will help to actually type this out?)

if you can answer that question, you at least got a starting point. work on something you WANT to be working on. cause if youre not, its going to come out like shit.

start out small. make some character sketches. are you interested in being able to ink and color as well? ( you prolly should be, cause being a triple threat makes you more desirable)

id also recommend drawing everyday. even for like 15 or 20 min. im pretty sure i got that advice from jack kirby...so its gotta be gold.

Yeah, you can call me Roge, I don't mind.

1. I have a list of different story ideas, but what I'm mose passionate about is just my characters themselfs. In a way, their like my actors and actresses in any storyline I put out. I happen to type out my ideas all the time, but because most of them come from during class, most of my notes would be on two of my notepads in my backpack.

I have alot of character sketches, but I think the problem is I'm not all that great with outfits, making up outfits. I'm not a very good at inking, can only do coloring on the computer, but I do what I can. Drawing everyday, huh? That much I can do...I just happen to draw my top three characters all the time. But I'm guessing it doesn't quite matter? You seem to draw your robot-self all the time...at least, what you present yourself.

I've been sketching out some of the small comic ideas I've had, hopefully someday make them full comics. I've only done small comic strips (like Gang Misadventures) and even then, their hard to see. I used to draw all the time in class, but just right now I'm doing pretty poor...

i was going to call you roge (pronounced like raj) whether you like it or not, but im glad you do.

...maybe you dont know this but uic adventures literally started as stupid doodles in a notebook that i drew during class. go watch how crap-tacular "the munman saga" one looks.

so dont overlook drawing during class. youre not doing anything else important.

drawing everyday keeps you sharp so you dont get rusty, also makes you improve. ive drawn that damn robot me a million times by now, from the legit drawings you see posted here to defacing posters and markerboards all over campus.

i still screw up on the face a lot, like not getting the angles and proportions right. i wont draw it from certain angles, because perspectively its a nightmare, and some parts especially in the chest, just dont add up at the angles theyre at.

Heh, well people call me Roge in college anyways so I really don't mind.

Thanks, that is some very good advice, the best thing I've learned so far really. Really, sometimes, I look back at my older artwork before going to college and see that they just look alot better than my newer ones, so clearly something's amiss.

Perspective is a nightmare, I always find myself drawing in three-fours presepective, that's just what I'm most used to. Did you take any art classes during college? I kind of figured your artwork just went better as it goes on in the comic...but yeah, I did noticed the lines during the starting pages. I always figured it was some artistic choice or something...
