I have fought hard to keep UIC Adventures on notebook paper as an aesthetic for the series. Tyler has almost relented on several occasions, but the loose leaf continues to win out in the end.

its just a fucking pain to work on. it tears and bends easily, pencils smudge and dont adhere as well.
and theres apparently no way with computers we could simulate the lines.

but ive taken that all into account and decided to just make the drawings look shittier and chalk that up as an aesthetic too.

its what a real artist would do.

and it wont matter because no one will ever care about UIC adventures ever again, it's not even relevant in our lives any more. Here's what everyone that gets the jokes will be saying "ha ha, I bet that was funny 3 years ago..." you should have just let it be. Also, putting it in "story order" was stupid, Going from the latest episode "episode 1" to the FIRST episode "munmin saga" is like WTF? Now I'm not saying that You're wasting your time tyler because I know this was all mike's brilliant idea... wait....... that is what I'm saying... Why not start a new project.

i like doing uic adventures. its as simple as that.

why was going out of narrative order stupid? like i said before, this whole thing was started haphazardly. we didnt start to get serious about it until after the hales episode.

it may not be relevent in our lives anymore since we dont go to college, but why couldnt it be to other people who do go to college? specifically uic.

General reminder that Terry DOES still go to college. UIC Adventures will always be relevant to us cause we lived it.

I said it was stupid to re-arrange it to put it in order because the drawings/voices/and editing has changes so much since the first one.

and it is dated now... If we waited just a little more before we started Doin' Stuff 1, all the jokes and passion we felt in our 8 grade year would have been gone and there would be no feeling behind what we did. I already said, you peaked with color theory, it was a good finale. I loved it, and all the one's before it. I just didn't get into orientation at all... and I know it's gonna be the same if/when the rest come out. And the reason for that being because you don't give a shit anymore. We're talking about things that happened 3-4 years ago. That'd be like if we did doin stuff 1 after we graduated high school... By then we were filming shenmue II. We were way past 8th grade.

Can you really get passionate about those freshman classes again? No, just like we can't get passionate about our 8 grade teachers again, But it's fun to watch DS1 and look back to see how passionate we once were.

Mike has always done his best to make all of our movies relevant by re-re-re-editing them, which is fine as long as it doesn't take away from the low to no budget charm the videos had, but don't be George lucas and try to tell the story of everything before Luke and Han 30 years later. Don't create Jar Jar binks just because you know we have fans that will watch it no matter what. Star Wars was great for it's time, but 30 years later it's just another CG movie that ruined his rep. UIC adventures was Great for it's time, but years later, it's just us trying to be funny. That's all I'll say. Go ahead and do it, but you know I'm right.

Maybe not but there are programmes that could clean the images up and do things like reducing the smudges. One project I had last year was to design and produce a website and I was required to do things like scan shitty hand drawn images (and I really do mean shitty luckily artistic skills were not required), digitally trace over them, edit, color them. I know the digital ones didn't have ones that had been crossed or scribbled out and having the smudges problem myself cleaned them up.

Downside though: It is a long, painstaking process depending on the size, detail and sometimes the quality of the images.

regardless of terry's views of relevency, uic adventures will continue as long as i want to draw them and mike will do everything else for me.

and no, i dont think its possible to ever be as passionate about something as you would be "in the moment". but its not like i completely forgot what it was like in college...it wasnt 5 years ago. it was A year.

also as a note to people who arent mike: only the last 2 or 3 scripts arent finished. theres 4 fully complete ones that lead up to and past the color theory episode.

yeah, its a shame i didnt work harder to do these while in college. thats soley my fault. but its still a story i want to tell and give an ending to.
im also working every day to be a better artist and writer, and i consider this good practice.

And really Ter, the last thing you should be advocating is NOT doing a project. The philosophy I've been trying to promote is that any idea, no matter how dumb, is worth pursuing in the interest of keeping everybody creative and involved. Too often I feel like I'm the one who needs to start the ball rolling for us to do a new project. So I like hearing that Tyler and Brian are still actively working on their animated series, or that Jakes and his crew are developing several new projects. Best of all, I like having guys like Pap asking, "Hey, when are we gonna film?" I may be in possession of all the equipment, but what I want to see more of is everyone coming up with ideas on their own for projects that they really want to do and then all of us can pitch in to make it happen.

Tyler is still passionate about doing the rest of UIC Adventures, so I'm gonna be right there to see it through with him. And having read all the scripts for future episodes, I think they are going to be really funny regardless of the fact that the events that inspired them happened several years ago. You enjoyed all our previous episodes despite the fact that you didn't go to school with us and weren't even involved with the production of the series. I think that speaks to the fact that they're funny not just cause we're making fun of our teachers and school, but because the characters and plot stand on their own and aren't just one big inside joke. So don't presume to tell us that we don't give a shit anymore and that we're only doing it cause we think we have to finish it. I'm as invested in the story and the characters as I was when Tyler first started the series. If you don't care about it, well...you're not really the one we're making it for.

And I've said it before, but for the record, remastering the movies isn't about keeping them relevant...it's about fixing the technical mistakes that came from using software like Roxio DVD Builder back in the day...

Mike beat me to it, but that's how I view projects myself. I think Terry's just like that because he's feeling the annoyance of college coming to him (which I'm sure I'm wrong about).

How about Naked Boobs Penis, Tyler?
